MK – Olympia theatre, May 2014

MK @ The Olympia Theatre (1st May 2014) (56 of 114)

MK - Olympia Theatre

After last year’s highly successful tour, internationally renowned producer and dj, MK returned to Ireland for headline slots at the Olympia Theatre, Dublin & the Savoy Theatre, Cork for JACK, one of Ireland’s largest live promotors

The design was a natural progression from last year’s production just on a larger scale. I incorporated the circular truss that worked so well and added a brand new floor package and 4 3m angled trusses to create a large dominant background. This tour also included live vocals from Anabel Englund so I added side light from Chauvet led wash heads on top of a tungsten front wash and dj special to help with photography and visibility of the artists.

What was a large complex rig and set up was made easier by a great crew and support from venue technicians as well as pre planning and consultations with all the parties involved.

Overall I think this has to be my proudest production so far. I was really pleased that the finished design was a natural evolution of MK’s previous tour and that the design was fully realised and as close as possible to the original concept.
